Whether you're looking for more bite or more glide, there's a selection of grinding wheels to help you optimize your performance on the ice. Use only Prosharp Advantedge wheels on the Prosharp Advantedge Home machine. Using any other grinding wheels or discs may damage the machine and void the warranty.
Available groove depths are:
* 1/2” or 13 mm
* 5/8” or 16 mm
* 3/4” or 19 mm
* 7/8” or 22 mm
* 1” or 25 mm
* 1 1/8” or 28 mm
* 1 1/4” or 31 mm
* 1 3/8” or 34 mm (most glide)
The different grinding wheels are used to grind the blade to your preferred cup depth. If you’re unsure which cup depth to start with, we recommend using a ¾”/19 mm wheel as a starting point. From there, you can try different wheels to find the cup depth that best suits your playing style. On average, a grinding wheel will sharpen about 75 pairs of skates. Your Prosharp® Advantedge grinding machine will notify you when it’s time to replace the grinding wheel.
