CHOOSE THE RIGHT HELMET

The brain is one of the most important and sensitive organs we have, and the helmet is the most important protection on the ice. In our well-stocked hockey store, you will find hockey helmets with the best protection and the best functions, in a wide range of different models, with or without visors, from the market-leading brands. A hockey helmet must be CE-marked, have good padding that absorbs shocks and is comfortable to wear. It should protect against different types of hits, have good ventilation and be adjustable for the best possible fit. It is also a plus if the helmet is durable, looks good and has a low weight.

Regardless of how expensive the helmet is, it does not provide adequate protection if it does not fit properly on the head. Therefore, we always recommend that you take help from someone who really knows how a helmet should fit. We are more than happy to help you with a test, adjustments, tips and recommendations.

• When the helmet is adjusted, it should be about one centimeter above the eyebrows, fit tightly around the head so that it cannot move, and have the chin properly in place in the chin cup.
  
  
• The helmet must fit perfectly so that it won’t fall off or be pushed backwards and leave the forehead exposed. Try and feel so that the helmet has a good fit, try different helmets so that you find the right brand and model for your head.
  
  
• If you buy a helmet for your child, you should definitely not buy a helmet that is too big for the child to grow in. Then you endanger the child's safety because the helmet is not used in the way it was designed for.
  
  
  

Check your helmet regularly, if there are cracks or damaged in some way it should be replaced immediately to continue providing the same protection. A helmet that has received a strong impact, for example from a hard hit or collision with the board, no longer provides adequate protection. It has then fulfilled its function by preventing or alleviating a head injury and you need to buy a new one.
